Background: Research has linked sitting for long periods of time with a number of health issues including obesity, cardiovascular disease, and poor mental health. The average American sits at least 7.7 hours per day, and a majority of that sitting occurs at work. This is particularly concerning as excess sitting may also impact worker productivity.
Purpose: This research study will test seated active workstations (like the one pictured below) and their ability to reduce sitting time and prevent negative
moods associated with sitting without disrupting productivity in the workplace.
