Using RFID to measure physical activity

Dr. Jennifer Gay with the Department of Health Promotion and Behavior at the University of Georgia is conducting a research study to test a technology for tracking stair walking (going up and down) in adults, and to see if this amount of stair walking improves health.

Taking part in this study involves answering some questions about your current health to make sure you are healthy enough to climb stairs, having your height, weight, and blood pressure measured, and completing a brief survey before and after four minutes of stair walking. During the stair walking participants will wear an activity monitor around their hip.

Participating takes approximately 35 minutes. If you participate you will receive a $10 Amazon gift card.
