Dr. Jennifer Gay, PACE Lab Director, is part of an interdisciplinary team receiving nearly $4.5 million in NIH funding for the project, “Evidence-based intervention to improve walking engagement in El Paso, Texas”. This project will conduct a clustered Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trial (SMART) to determine the effectiveness of an employer-based walking challenge intervention- 50,000 for Life (50K4Life)- in improving brisk walking engagement (at least 7,000 steps/day) among school district employees. Dr. Gay, Dr. Mark Wilson, and Dr. Janani Thapa of UGA will provide guidance on conducting worksite physical activity interventions and oversee the implementation monitoring and economic evaluation for this project. Congratulations!
