Blue Gym of Georgia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The goal of this project is to develop and test a media campaign to increase the concurrent behaviors of physical activity with litter and debris cleanup. We partner with UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant and Keep Golden Isles Beautiful to employ a robust systematic approach to develop persuasive visual communications. Steps of the message development process have been funded by the Engaged Scholarship Consortium and the Owens Institute for Behavioral Research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southeast and Gulf Coast Fishermen First Aid and Safety Training<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, we are utilizing a community-based participatory approach to translate a fishing first aid and safety program designed for Pacific Northwest fishermen to be relevant for Georgia’s shrimp and crab fishermen. The goal of the program is to reduce risk and severity of injuries among commercial fishermen. The long-term plan is to scale up the translated program for implementation in the Southeast and Gulf Coast regions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

50K4Life<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

50K4Life uses a SMART design to implement and assess individual, social, and built environment intervention methods to increase walking in K-12 teachers and staff in El Paso, Texas.
