About

Hannah Freeman is a journalism student at the University of Georgia. She devoted much of her time in high school to the school’s newspaper and yearbook as an editor, through which she found her love of writing.

Freeman began her college education at the University of South Florida as a communication major. She quickly realized that she wanted a more hands-on experience and transferred to UGA in the summer of 2023. She was admitted to the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication the following semester.

Since attending the Grady College, Freeman has immersed herself as a journalist reporting on sustainability in the Athens community. She is also a contributor for the Red & Black and a member of Women in Media.

When she is not writing, Freeman enjoys reading books and being outdoors. Her favorite author is Joan Didion, who inspired her to pursue a career in journalism. She has a passion for music and loves listening to Phoebe Bridgers and The 1975.

As she continues her career as a journalist, Freeman hopes to one day write for publications like Vogue and Rolling Stone.
