The annual Friends of the Garden Flea Market took place at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens, Georgia on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023. The event was on hiatus for three years due to the COVID-19 virus, and the event organizer, Beverly Moore Morton, said the attendance was bigger than in previous years. The flea market was divided into two floors – the main floor had houseware, furniture and appliances, while the second floor had books, toys and artwork.
Morton said that this is the last flea market fundraiser due to a lack of new volunteers. She said that they are dependent on students and other people to help with the physical work that comes with running the event.
