I am an undergraduate Honors student at the University of Georgia majoring in Journalism and Political Science on the pre-law track, and minoring in Law, Jurisprudence and the State. I am also pursuing a certificate in Public Affairs Communications. I seek to use my reporting skills and access to resources to advocate for marginalized communities. I am interested in the intersection of journalism, social justice and policy, and I look for experiences where these passions overlap.
As a student within the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, I have learned to seek diverse viewpoints in all of the stories I create and learn how to put together a variety of multimedia elements (video, audio, data visualization) to tell a story.
Throughout my time at UGA, I have engaged in several opportunities to expand my learning through coursework and real-world experiences. During Summer 2024, I participated in the GradyDC program, where I took Public Affairs Communications in a federal context and interned with the DC Appleseed Center for Law and Justice, a nonprofit that tackles DC specific issues through research, advocacy and litigation. This experience allowed me to directly apply what I had learned in the classroom to a real-world experience.
Additionally, during Summer 2025, I participated in the Grady at Oxford program, where I took courses in International Mass Communication and International Conflict. This opportunity helped me broaden my academic experience and learn from renowned professors at a top university.
Outside of my academic pursuits, I am currently a member of the Arch Society, where I serve as a goodwill host and ambassador for the university. I have had the opportunity to give tours to potential students and volunteer at UGA’s Memorial Service and undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies.
I also serve as the Internal Director for Shop With a Bulldog (SWAB), the largest student-run nonprofit organization at UGA devoted to serving Athens elementary students by taking them holiday shopping on one Sunday in November every year. My role involves overseeing the four internal groups within the organization and making sure to facilitate positive communication amongst each member.
I work as a transition leader for Student Transitions at UGA, where I serve as a resource for any student on campus who is navigating a transition. I help in creating and planning events to bring students together, as well as conduct individual meetings to discuss specific student transitions.
