WASHINGTON – Capitol CNCT welcomed two summer interns to their Navy Yard office on June 3, 2024. Interns Sydney Rainwater and Emily O’Neil will assist our office in daily tasks like updating our jobs and events boards, as well as contribute to innovations in CNCT’s platforms while they are here.

“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to help foster community and bipartisanship through my work this summer,” said Rainwater. “In some ways, that’s become rare.”

Rainwater is a rising senior journalism major at the University of Georgia. She also studies public affairs communications and has a particular interest in digital media and design. Her responsibilities at CNCT will be focused on design, outreach, and writing our Staffer Spotlight articles.

O’Neil is a rising senior at the University of Pittsburgh– our founder, David Tennent’s, alma mater– where she studies political science and nonprofit management. Her responsibilities are research and management-based.

“At CNCT, we really value new perspectives and ideas from those of all walks of life. The addition of our two interns has been a breath of fresh air around our office, and we are lucky to have them both,” said Tennent.

They’ve already had a busy time here at CNCT, as the team went door-to-door in House and Senate office buildings advertising for our Grad Fair on their first in-person day. CNCT looks forward to seeing what they accomplish here and in their careers.
