The University of Georgia\u2019s glee clubs will be performing a spring concert on Feb 27.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Both the University of Georgia\u2019s men\u2019s and women\u2019s glee clubs will be performing a spring concert at the Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, Feb 27 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be conducted by Dr. Sarah Frook Gallo and multiple graduate students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

\u201cIt\u2019s our opportunity to sing as individual ensembles and for the rest of the semester, we\u2019ll be working on a combined work,\u201d said Dr. Gallo \u201cSo this is their opportunity to perform as unique ensembles and show our skills and show what makes singing in these single voice ensembles special.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s glee clubs consist of undergraduate music majors and music minors, as well as other students from the university. The glee clubs will often collaborate with each other when performing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

\u201cThe concert\u2019s called \u2018Vive La Compagnie\u2019 and that is after one of the songs that the men\u2019s glee club will be singing, but really, it just reflects my hope that the music we make is all about celebrating the people that are in the room and the people that are making music.\u201d said Dr. Gallo.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Gallo is the interim associate director of choirs at the university and has been with the university for five years. She was also a doctoral student at the university, where she was awarded the Presidential Fellowship. Dr. Gallo has a history of teaching different courses relating to music including music theory. She also has an extensive history of conducting for different choirs.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
