Wesley Branch intends to be a sports reporter and journalist. He plans to use his experiences and platform to continue to tell the stories of others within sports and focus these stories on the athletes and their talents.
Wesley is from Evans, Georgia. He is currently studying Journalism at the Grady College of Journalism & Mass Communication at the University of Georgia and is completing a certificate in Sports Media. He is also minoring in Sport Management.
During his time as a student, Wesley has had experience conducting interviews with student-athletes, coaches, administrators and community members. From those interviews, he created a variety of stories about different topics and people like profile stories, getting-to-know stories and more. He also serves in the Sports Communications Department of the University of Georgia Athletic Association, working with the Football, Men’s Basketball and Men’s Tennis teams.
Wesley started his own sports blog, The Sports Branch, in April of 2021. He uses the website to share his opinions on current events in professional and collegiate sports and to continue progressing his writing skills. Some of his favorite topics to cover on the website are the NFL Draft, NBA Free Agency and weekly NFL recaps.
