He teaches composition and Environmental Literature and is the lead developer of the Emma project, a web application for writing. His scholarship has appeared in\u00a0<em>Portal<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Journal of General Education<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Readerly\/Writerly Texts<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Literary and Linguistic Computing<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>ATQ<\/em>. His continuing interests include Environmental Literature and Eco-criticism, Thoreau, PHP, Symfony (a web application development platform), honey bees, chickens, worms, and the rich ecosystem of the backyard\u00a0garden. \u00a0He serves on the Office of Sustainability&#8217;s committee for the integration of sustainability in the curriculum at UGA and is the director of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustain.uga.edu\/\">Sustainability Certificate<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ctlsites.uga.edu\/sustainability-ronbalthazor\/bio-2\/\">Resume<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ron Balthazor, Ph.D. is a senior\u00a0academic professional at the University of Georgia.
