Hello, I am Delicia James! The content within this portfolio reflects my professional and academic experience throughout my pursuit of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at the University of Georgia. The contents found within this portfolio are a majority of academic achievement, with a balance of professional context. Having fewer volunteer experiences within my pursuit leaves room for further development in this area upon graduation.
The artifacts included within this portfolio are from the PADP 6920, PADP 6930, PADP 6960, PADP 7110, PADP 7500, and my internship with the Georgia state chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), where there is preparation to showcase my dedication and academic growth in my projects and writing assignments.
I work as a student research assistant at the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) at the University of Georgia. I gained experience with the assistant professor, Felipe Lozano-Rojas, in preparing Sin Taxes and Tobacco Use research. I perform basic secretarial duties to enhance the workplace dynamics and assist with research for academic publications.
My professional goal is to obtain an administrative director position within a creditable non-profit organization or local government agency in the greater Atlanta area or another metropolitan city. This will allow me to utilize my Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree with a concentration in Social Work and my Master of Public Administration degree to manage professionals adequately while providing the necessary resources and advocacy to those that are disenfranchised. From my Social Work and Public Administration knowledge of people and issues, I can positively influence policy or human resource dynamics. I aim to be a highly contributing factor within any organization as it reaches its obligations to service and high levels of achievement.
