Three 5-page Essays (60%): Description of Assignment
First Essay due by Tuesday, February 12th; rewrites due prior to April 2nd
Second Essay due by Tuesday, April 2nd; rewrites due prior to May 3rd
Third Essay due no later than Friday, May 3rd at 11:00pm
Three-Part Austen Canon Project (30%)
Text choice due by February 19th; assigned by February 21st; in-class book club meeting on March 5th. Book reviews due by the end of spring break.
Groups meet on Thursday, April 25th to choose readings for the class. Reading assignment due by the end of class.
Groups lead class discussion on Tuesday, April 30th
Due by Wednesday, May 8th at 8:00pm
If you choose to do a creative or critical project in lieu of writing fan fiction you must submit a written description of that project by April 9th
Attendance Guidelines and In-Class Writing (10%)
Three unexcused absences prior to midpoint will result in your being dropped from the roll. Over the course of the semester, more than four unexcused absences will negatively impact your final grade. Late arrivals will also be noted; please come to class on time.
