Voluntary Service

Mercy Health Center (Athens, GA)

  • Mercy clinic is a volunteer-run clinic for underserved populations in the Athens area. Primarily first and second year medical students at the nearby AU/UGA Medical Partnership Campus are invited to see patients on Wednesday evenings and participate in the management of these patients with guidance from senior physicians.
  • I volunteered an average of 4 evenings/semester during my first and second years of medical school.

Medical Partnership Mobile Clinic/Athens Free Clinic

  • Bringing the clinic to under-served areas in Athens and the surrounding area, Mobile Clinic gives medical students a chance to see patients and develop treatment plans with guidance from the Clinic’s founding physician, Dr. Suzanne Lester, as well as other physicians and internal medicine residents from Piedmont Athens Regional and St. Mary’s Hospital.
  • I currently volunteer with mobile clinic on Saturdays and have been doing so since September 2018.
