I am a fourth-year journalism major at the University of Georgia, pursuing a Sports Media Certificate and a Spanish minor, with a strong interest in sports communications and journalism. I have developed skills in reporting, AP style writing, interviewing and storytelling across broadcast, social and print platforms.
Through the Carmical Sports Media Institute and Grady College of Journalism & Mass Communication, I have gained hands-on experience pitching, reporting and producing video content in newsroom settings, as well as creating daily Instagram content for high school soccer teams by covering games and engaging with athletes, coaches and the community to identify storylines. I have also served as a mentor for student reporters, helping them develop story ideas, learn reporting techniques and gain familiarity writing in AP style.
I grew up playing and watching soccer, and my goal is to work in sports communications for a professional soccer organization or as a journalist covering the game. I remain active in the sport through intramural soccer and managing the Instagram page of a local high school soccer team.
I also completed a six-week Spanish language immersion program in Sevilla, Spain, and I hope to apply these skills to better engage with the growing Spanish-speaking soccer community in the United States.
