Wellness Newsletter – The State Rests

Meet Tierra Gaines, a trial assistant in the trial division. She has a strong connection with the south, being born in North Carolina and raised in Georgia. Although she is usually neutral when it comes to college alliances, Tierra supports HBCUs and SEC schools when she gets the chance. She earned a BA in psychology at Clark Atlanta University and began working in the legal field in 2018. She joined the office in 2022 and believes her career so far has been a journey of growth and insight, embracing the constantly evolving nature of her line of work. Her favorite part of the job is seeing how her work has a meaningful impact on the community. She finds the constant urgency of the job to be a challenge, but she believes that it has helped her sharpen her time management skills. In her free time, Tierra enjoys watching a mix of crime dramas and uplifting shows, finding there is a nice balance between watching both. She values her independence and quiet time through activities like journaling and nature walks. She explains, “I believe in keeping my peace a priority.” While she has no pets at home, she has a soft spot for animals having grown up around them. In the future, Tierra hopes to travel and learn about other cultures all around the world. If you see Tierra, be sure to say hello!
