Jordan can be an iconic figure to the present racial issues considering there was racial tension during his career. Him being a black athlete during that time, and the fact that he is still having an impact on the game and sociey itself is pretty amazing. With the issues of race today, it is people like Jordan that have proven that these issues of social injustice remain temporary if we as a nation can come together as one to overcome the odds. 20 years ago, I believe he may have played a more significant role (even if he didn’t know it) in the subject of racism and social injustice just due to the fact is was during his prime.

We all know Jordan as a legend with class. I believe due to the time period in which he was in his prime instigated a more humbling approach to the way he played the game. He let his actions speak, and felt that there was no need for additional words or actions to belittle his competition. This aspect of his character helped define his career.

I do not believe so. Letting his play speak for his reputation is how he became a legend in the first place. Race and political factors would only add negative publicity to his very polished career. The world of sports changed for the better to include all races for competition, and would have been an unnecessary topic for to bring up constantly during his career.
