Concede or Secede

Tonight is the night. It all comes down to this. Presidential Candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have gone toe to toe till the very wire. Trump failed to put the nail in the coffin as the FBI Clinton was closed. While many of the polls still favor Clinton, one question lies on the mind of many on the democratic side. What happens if Trump loses and does not Concede?

October 22, 2016

Trumps rhetoric of a rigged election has created an atmosphere of tension as the candidate refused to commit to conceding if he loses the race. This controversial refusal directly butts heads with Trump’s demand for law and order within the country. A refusal to concede a loss to Clinton would spark outrage and uncertainty with the electoral process and the validity of the results in the eyes of some supporters. of the safety status in the United States.

“Polls show about 27 percent of Trump voters would not accept the results if their candidate lost”

This is a large percentage of Trump supporters that feel disenfranchised by the system. These people have lost trust in their government and without leadership from their candidate to ease the reality of a possible loss, could turn violent.

Trump needs to take charge of his supporters and demand law and order from them despite the outcome of the election. Although the result is not set in stone, it is important to both win and lose with grace. Trump as a future leader of this country needs to lay down the law and help bring the people together in the closing moments of the election. Win or lose we will all still wake up as Americans and together we shall find a way forward in order.

Freeze! FBI October Surprise!

Throughout this election process Trump’s harsh rhetoric towards the FBI has been well documented when pertaining to the case involving Hilary Clinton and classified information being sent to and from a private server, “The FBI rolled over and the Department of Justic rolled over.”

justice-trapTrump has consistently painted his opponent as an insider that holds a different standard when it comes to being judged by the law. The Republican Presidential Candidate has not been shy with this criticism of the Law and Order of the land – often stating that there are two types of justice, “the system is rigged when Hillary Clinton is allowed to run for president, because what she did is criminal.”

But with the new probe into the emails of the Democratic Presidential Candidate just 11 days before the election, it would appear Trump is singing a new tune:

“It might be not as rigged as I thought, right?”

FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Congress on Friday. Inside that letter was a statement saying that the bureau is further investigating additional emails that appear relevant to the Hillary Clinton email case. Moments after this announcement Trump took the stage at a rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, “Perhaps finally justice will be done.”

Trumps surrogates Paul Ryan, and Newt Gingrich  stormed twitter and many major news stations to follow up on the madness

This bombshell has produced many ripples in the political pond and the tides may be changing. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are almost tied in the latest Washington Post ABC Poll as democratic enthusiasm is on the decline. The Clinton camp is floundering and blaming FBI Director James Comey for this October Surprise . By reopening the case against Clinton, the democrats claim Comey deliberately acted to influence the outcome of the election.

Whether it was deliberate or poorly timed, Trump would do best to freeze in his tracks and let his opponent try swimming in the deep end these last few days. It may be too little too late for the American voter’s minds to change, but with Trump’s continuous press on talks of double standards, maybe the public will look twice at this probe into law and order.

The 100 Day Trial

It is coming down to the wire as the presidential race edges closer and closer to November. The candidates having cleared the debates are now finding themselves with little time to swing undecided voters their way while meeting campaign expectations. With such little time, Trump has unveiled his First hundred days executivtrump-gettysberge plan in hopes that some of his promises may draw more support. He addressed the people at Gettysburg and said he plans to restore order through economic prosperity. Trump claims by standing up to countries that cheat on trade, canceling rules and regulations that send jobs overseas, lifting restrictions on energy production and finally repealing and replacing Obamacare that we will see a balance return to our struggling economy. Trump seems to think that with a relief on the economy will come a revitalization of the people. Alongside his plan to restore order, Trump plans to uphold the law.

Trump’s Judge

Trump has made one of his goals within his first one hundred days to find a replacement for Justice Scalia on the United States Supreme Court.  This appointment of a judge is by far his best chance to draw those who are wavering between candidates anSupreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has died. I wrapped him in the Constitution because he said he loved it. He called himself an Originalist and criticized people who believed in a "living Constitution. Scalia once said, "The Constitution is not a living organism; it is a legal document. It says something and doesn't say other things."d worried about their second amendment rights.  Back in September Trump’s campaign released a short list of a multitude of potential judges:

  • Keith Blackwell
  • Charles Canady
  • Neil Gorsuch
  • Mike Lee
  • Edward Mansfield
  • Federico Moreno
  • Margaret A. Ryan
  • Amul Thapar
  • Timothy Tymkovich
  • Robert Young

In a New York  speech Trump claimed “He will appoint judges who will uphold the Constitution and that “Hilary Clinton’s radical judges will virtually abolish the 2nd amendment”. Clinton’s campaign has yet to release any potential candidates but her stance on gun laws may have some Americans worried about her selection.

If elected it will be up to the American people to judge whether Trump makes the right decisions heading out of the gate. The first 100 days will surly be a trial and error run with the new politician, but many Americans may just be happy someone is trying to shake things up. Will he meet expectations? You Judge.

Election Rigged, Believe Me!

Trump was in the casino business; he knows a scam when he sees it…. Right? This week as the media continued to bash Donald Trump for his performance on the Access Hollywood tape and as women after women sprung from the woodwork, Trump decided to fight back. His new angle of attack took at jab at two of his most hated enemies.

“The election is absolutely being rigged by the dishonest and distorted media pushing Crooked Hillary – but also at many polling places – SAD”

Trump has yet to produce any evidence for his claims that this year’s election will be rigged, but that won’t stop him from tweeting out his own truths. Tweets keep rolling in as Trump does what he does best; attack. He continues to pull at the WikiLeaks string hoping for the whole thing to unravel and while doing so ties in his favorite new word.

“Crooked Hillary colluded w/FBI and DOJ and media is covering up to protect her. It’s a #RiggedSystem! Our country deserves better!”

But what effect does Trump calling the election process rigged actually have?

It turns out that the perception of corruption as well as negative messages about political empowerment may limit voters’ desire to participate in the political process. Alongside discouraging some to go out to the polling booths, this rhetoric instills a sense of hopelessness and distrust in government that cannot be healthy. It goes against his wishes to respect the law and order of the land and the fundamental electorate practices that our country holds so highly. Those more susceptible to Trump’s influence might feel as though they simply cannot win without means of violence or revolution. This may be a tactic Trump is implementing to reduce voter turnout for those that may have swung towards Hilary Clinton as election day nears.

Some republicans may remember last election cycle when Romney’s camp said not to trust the polls. We may see yet another disappointed base that has their misguided hopes up and this brings us to the final presidential debate this upcoming Wednesday night. Will trump continue to push the “rigged” rhetoric or will he appear tame and tempered? Either way America has its hopes up that the excitement continues.

Sunday night’s debate was only missing the tumbleweed as both candidates were locked in an almost western tense duel for the ages. Trump came into the fight with a gun wound tapes surfaced only days before showing crass behavior through his language towards women. Regardless of the setbacks he would bring his quick draw to the table making it anyone’s game.

This second presidential debate brought insight into the candidates as they addressed questions of racial relations. In an attempt to sway African American Voters Trump opened with, “I want to do things that haven’t been done, including fixing and making our inner cities better for the African-American citizens that are so great”. Despite his words, Trumps tone made it clear which side he aligns with as the story of law and order continues to play out. He drilled this message backing police officers, “We have to bring back respect to law enforcement”. Trump cited his many endorsements by enforcement agencies failing to understand the public outcry with many of the organizations. Finally, his true colors emerged as he took out his gold star and pinned it to his suit and stared down Clinton “If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation”

This may strike well with his fleeting base support. What will not strike well are the rumors of a tape containing profane language against African Americans on the horizon. Sources from the apprentice crew hint at tapes containing racist slurs. If such a tape is released tension between the community Trump aims to fix may be severed completely, or there might be backlash at events as his campaign comes to a close.

With a closing campaign, some republicans are abandoning ship and Trump lashing out, “Disloyal R’s are far more difficult than Crooked Hillary.” They come at you from all sides. They don’t know how to win- I will teach them!” Republicans defectors be warned. There is a new sheriff in town and you might not be able to leave or you too might find yourself “in jail.”

Trump SVU

Much like adonald-trump-and-former-miss-universe-alicia-machado-leden episode of the hit television show Law and order SVU, Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump finds himself the victim in in a new situation each and every week. But instead of a team of detectives searching for the alleged assailant, it is always Trump who is to blame for his incompetence in regards to running a presidential campaign. After a horrendous performance at last week’s debate it would behoove the republican candidate to follow his own advice and seek out law and order, but Trump can’t seem to keep the topic on law and order. It was brought up by Hillary Clinton at the end of the debate that trump fat-shamed former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, and instead of simply moving on Trump dragged the topic back up to Fox and Friends hosts for the rest of the media to pick up on.

How can trump maintain law and order when he keeps stepping into the traps laid out by the other side?  Trump can’t seem to get any headway with women and minority voters. With more of these outlandish comments he furthers his ability to reach out to them. Luckily Mike Pence came in hot and heavy to the Vice Presidential debate in order to save to day. With a strong performance he was able to display that Trump may have at least understand who to surround himself with. Pence was able to carry this week’s political law and order episode to a suspenseful Sunday night showdown in the upcoming debate, but will we see more of the same old story from Trump?
