Hey, my name is Alex Cochrane and I am currently a senior at UGA. I plan to graduate this Spring with my MIS degree. I grew up in Suwanee, Georgia, and I went to Lambert High School. Growing up, I played baseball but started picking up basketball in high school. Till this day, playing basketball is one of my favorite activities to do when I have time.
For this class, I am excited to learn more about technology and where it is heading. I understand how fast technology is improving, and I believe in the next decade, life will look completely different than it does now. The emergence of AI, quantum computing, and much more will change practically everything we know! I’m looking forward to having a professor who is both knowledgeable and passionate about something like this. To be honest, I am a bit worried about the amount of work stated to be apart of this class, especially since I am taking 17 hours this semester. However, I hope it won’t be too bad given the interesting nature of what we are learning.
I have an older sister and a twin sister. My oldest graduated from the University of Alabama with an MIS degree, and my twin is studying at Georgia College & State University. My parents just recently moved to Alpharetta, and the whole family likes the new place. When it comes to school, I’ve actually been to three different universities. For my first semester, I went to GCSU, just like my sister. I hated it there, and got out of there as soon as I could. I ended up transferring to Georgia Southern, which was a step up from GCSU, but it wasn’t all that either. The plan was always to end up at UGA, so wherever I was in the meantime wasn’t very important to me. Unfortunately, COVID came around right as I transferred into UGA, making the college experience not as great as it should have been. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to room with three of my best friends from high school, which ended up making things much better.
Outside of school, I’m always looking for different side-hustles. Another big passion of mine is making money, and I love going down different roads in search of it. Currently, I work with my long-time friend Wyatt Eiden, who many people might know of from his trivia videos on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Youtube, etc. We met over 10 years ago and have been like brothers ever since. We both share the same ambition in terms of money and success, and so we’ve gone through many different ventures throughout the years.

I travel around with him when I’m available, but it is not easy with school. Other than social media work, the two of us have been planning out many business ideas to pursue, many of which will have to wait until after graduation. Recently, we were invited to Rolling Loud in New York, which is a music festival that takes place in a few places around the country each year. While we were there, we got to meet and interview many of the performers, which was a great experience for both personal and business reasons. It was my first time in New York, and I loved it so much that I started making plans to live there after graduating. Below are some pictures from New York, including a picture after our interview with Kevin Gates.
I have always been interested in technology and the MIS pathway. For the longest time, I was positive that this was the career for me. However, I started to realize lately that it was more about the money than anything. While I still have a big interest in these things, I don’t plan to be continuing this pathway after school. I want to invest in other things, and I dream of the company that Wyatt and I are launching soon will be a great start to this journey.
But anyways, Go Dawgs! I love this school and want to spend my last semester meeting some great people and having as much fun as possible. Cheers to a great semester!
Hello Alex! It’s nice to meet you through your blog! It’s cool to see how your passion has led you to some cool opportunities like getting invited to Rolling Loud. Who were you able to meet there? Must’ve been crazy to go to New York and be a part of that experience.
It was! I am very grateful for those experiences, and I hope to be able to make many more down the road
Alex! So nice to meet you. It sounds like you have had an incredible journey so far and I look forward to hearing more about it. I was in the same boat as you last semester with hours and while it takes work, It is fulfilling at the end of the semester when everything is done and you look back at what you accomplished. Also, I do believe I work with your twin sister at Goldfein. We started as interns together and now work there part-time. I know she loves star wars and wondering if you’re in the same boat as her….
Woah small world! I do love star wars, but I definitely don’t have the same passion for it like she does lol
Nice to meet you Alex! Its super cool that you and your friend travel around and do social media together. I recogonize him from tik tok and I enjoy his trivia channel. I would love to hear more about how that goes and any potential business oportunities you and him embark on!
Sure thing! I appreciate the kind words
Hey Alex! Nice to meet you! It is great to see that you are working towards creating something new with Wyatt and the company you want to start. I share your feelings with MIS. I think that it is wonderful for setting yourself up for better opportunities in the future but I would not consider it my dream to be in consulting for a long time. I look forward to learning more about what you have in mind for your future and working with you in class!
Hey Alex! Your story is awesome and I saw you are really involved in social media/ Youtube. At one point it was a career of mine as I was getting paid to post content! We should talk outside of class sometime
