I have thoroughly enjoyed only a few classes during my time at the University of Georgia. This class was not only one of the few, but by far the best, and most interesting class I have ever taken. I feel as though most classes have tried to teach me things to give me a basic understanding of what I need to know once I enter my career, but not once has a class truly tried to teach me how to navigate the world. This one has.
Dr. Kane and the guest speakers in this class given us an inside look at the world of business and have shown us the different paths everyone takes in finding success. Through their personal stories, we were able to learn about the struggles and hardships they faced, the risks they took, and the innovative approaches they used to solve problems and create opportunities in their businesses. I found it fascinating to hear about the different business models and strategies that these entrepreneurs used to build and grow their companies.
One of my major “key takeaways” from the class was the importance of building strong relationships and networks within these industries. It was inspiring to see how the guest speakers used their personal connections and networks to create new opportunities and partnerships, and how they were willing to share their knowledge and experience with others.
Overall, this class has given me a new perspective on the world of technology and innovation. I feel more equipped to navigate the digital landscape and better understand the different factors that contribute to success in this field. I would absolutely recommend everyone to take this course and I hope Dr. Kane continues to teach it. It was an incredible experience and perfect for someone who is near graduation like myself. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from such experienced and accomplished people, and I look forward to applying the lessons and insights I have gained in my own career.
I also thought that this was one of the best classes I’ve taken at UGA. The ability to hear the speaker’s advice through their failures and triumphs was inspiring to hear. I hope we can all stay connected throughout our careers and keep up with the connections we have made in this class. Have a good one!
It was great to hear everyone preach (ha!) about the importance of a network. Safe to say I consider this class apart of my network now. Looking forward to keeping in relative touch with everyone here.
Good takeaways. Glad to have you in the class!
I completely agree with you, Spencer. This class taught the content In the syllabus and then some. I didn’t think I would learn to understand and value my reward system to feel fulfilled, as BJ discussed in his guest speaker slot. I also might consider what Kelsey said about moving to a place where there aren’t too many social distractions to focus on what you want out of your life. Those are the few things that I am talking about that I’ve learned that go way beyond the syllabus.
Hey Spencer, completely agree about your view of this class. This class definitely helped teach us how to navigate the world and our future careers. Definitely one of the best classes here at UGA.
