Hey everyone! My name is Garrett Goff and I am a 4th year MIS student graduating this spring. I am from Dallas, Georgia where I attended High school at North Paulding. Coming to UGA out of High school was a tremendous step not just for myself, but for my family as well. My father and mother both did not attend college, and I feel honored to be able to go to school at the University of Georgia. Recently, I have been valuing this last year I have left, by spending extra time on campus and hanging out with the friends I have made here over the last three and half years. As for after graduation, I am beginning my role as a Business Development Associate at Thought Logic Consulting in Buckhead. I had met the recruiters of Thought Logic Consulting at the UGA career fair and their company had peaked my interest early. Later on in the recruiting process I visited their office in Buckhead and got a feel for their culture. I am beyond excited to begin working for them this June.

In my free time outside of school I enjoy an active lifestyle playing golf, basketball, and working out. I would say that I am a very below average player at the sport of golf, nonetheless I enjoy being outside and spending time with people who I care about. I frequently go play with my family and friends and am trying to improve my game slowly. I also play basketball, this has been an ongoing hobby of mine for many years. I grew up playing basketball and played competitively until I graduated high school in 2019. With these two active hobbies, I believe staying active and working out regularly is a key component of someone’s physical and mental health. I have only been working out for two and half years and have seen many benefits in not only strength, but in mental strength. Besides being active I have bartended downtown for the last three years and many different bars in Athens. I really do enjoy bartending, but the hours of a bartender is not something I could be interested in as a career. Outside of work I enjoy playing video games and getting some drinks downtown with my friends. Below is a picture of me bartending at Emporium, me golfing with three of my best friends, and me attending a UGA basketball game. I am very excited about our team this year and what the future hold for our new coach.

Back home in Dallas, I have two dogs and one cat. My two dogs’ names are Reba and Ace, and my cat’s name is Freedom. My family had got our cat once my dad had returned from serving overseas in Iraq, which is why we named the cat, Freedom. I only have one sister, and her name is Gabby. She has just started her first year at University of West Georgia in Carrollton. My sister and I are very close and are only two years of age apart. My mom, Jennifer, and my dad, Brian, are both from Pennsboro, West Virginia where they met, and moved to Dover, Delaware where I was born. I rarely tell people I was born in Delaware, because I have lived more than 75% of my life in Georgia. I grew up in Georgia and became an Atlanta and UGA sports fan. To be able to cheer on the dawgs and have them win back to back national championships while I am in attendance here is truly a dream come true. I am so thankful for my time here at UGA and hope to have a great last semester getting to know everyone better and cherishing my last few months here.
