Hello! My name is Nazneen Husain, and I am double majoring in Accounting and Management Information Systems. I chose to major in accounting because I wanted to enhance and challenge my analytical, cognitive, and problem-solving skills. I also believe that accounting is fundamental in understanding any business, and it is important to understand for my future entrepreneurial endeavors. My strong desire to gain more business technical skills drove me to add on my second major: MIS. Although juggling these two majors has been difficult the past few semesters, I am grateful to have learned a plethora of professional and educational concepts and values.
Throughout my college career I have worked for a couple of local accounting start-ups, and I have completed two Audit internships for two Big Four companies. In January 2022, I interned for EY in their Audit practice, and in the summer of that year I completed my second Audit internship for KPMG. Both of my internships were in Chicago, and I thoroughly enjoyed living in the windy city while interning. Interning for these companies has taught me to be more organized with my notetaking and especially my time.

In this class, I hope to expand on the skills I have gained from prior classes and work experiences. I want to analyze how digital technologies have shaped small or large companies today. I am also looking froward to hearing from a handful of guest speakers throughout the semester.
Personally, I have a variety of interests. I love to spend time with my cat, watch movies, hike, paint, crochet, lift weights, bake, and cook. In August of 2022, I adopted my first tabby cat named Aang. He is named after a character in one of my favorite childhood TV shows, Avatar the Last Airbender. Aang is extremely goofy and is notorious for waking me up in the middle of night by running across my face. Even though he can get annoying at times, I enjoy his presence and am so thankful I was able to adopt him.

When I am not at home with my cat, I will most likely be at the gym. One summer I signed up for a weightlifting class for PE and met one of my best friends on the first day of class. Since then, my friend and I have worked out together and have continuously improved our workouts or learned new skills. I enjoy working out, whether it is indoors in the gym or hiking, because it helps me to destress. It is the one part of my day where I get to focus solely on myself.

Another aspect of my life that I value is time with my family and friends. My family and friends are my support system, and they are important for my success and overall mental health. I believe it is important to take some time out of my life to spend quality time with the people I am most comfortable around. For example, my family and I love to cook together, and we enjoy dividing up tasks for a large meal. We mostly make various Indian curries or snacks, but recently we switched to Thai food, and we have been loving it. At the University of Georgia, I have met so many amazing people who I spend a lot of my time studying or going out with. My friends and I love to take trips to scenic areas for the weekend, where we play board games and do other fun activities. I am so grateful for the amazing people and connections I can always fall back on, and I hope to carry it on in my future.
Hello Nazneen! I love working out as well because it helps me deal with stress. Gulab jamun is one of my favorite desserts to eat and I enjoy eating it whenever I get the chance.
Hi Nazneen! I just got a cat named Storm and now I can’t imagine being home without her here. She does destroy furniture and eat my food sometimes so that is annoying. The name Aang is awesome!
Hi Nazneen, very cool that you did two internships with Big 4 companies. I visited Chicago once this summer for the first time and LOVED it. Chicago truly is an amazing place in the summer. Not so sure about the winters… but it’s definitely on my radar to live there at some point.
