Hello everyone!
My name is Mirage Rasoli, and I am currently a 4th year MIS student. I am from Dacula, Ga which is located west of athens! Although my time here is almost done, I have enjoyed every little moment whether it has been good or bad. I am blessed that throughout my years here, I have met amazing people and have built lifelong friendships with both students and professors (hopefully you guys did as well!). In all honesty, I am a still trying to figure out which career path to take on with my MIS degree. I say this because with an MIS degree, there are a variety of career paths to take on, so I am still exploring my options and hopefully this class will help guide me into selecting my pathway! However, i’m not going to lie I am a little stressed out about finding a job with the way our economy is operating at the moment.
My passion and interest in MIS sparked as soon as I lost interest in my original major, which was econ. It was somewhat of an interesting major, but I could not see my future self-doing anything econ related (I took AP Macro in highschool and I hated it so I don’t know why I wanted to major in it). I was on the lookout for other business majors besides econ, but I wasn’t able to find anything that I was interest in until I took MIST 2090 with Karim Jetha. I would honestly say that this was one of my most enjoyable classes that I have taken, just because it was an “intro” to MIS class, and it gave me a preview of what this major offered. This class was enjoyable and interesting to me because the whole concept of combining tech and business together is something that I love learning about.
My life outside the classroom
My life outside the classroom is like living in a different universe. I have a strong passion for YouTube, and outside the classroom, I enjoy hanging out and making YouTube videos with my friends. I am a huge part of my friend’s channel “Baylen Levine”. Below is a picture of my Youtuber friends and I (to the far right) at a $100,000 basketball tournament (I coached them but we ended up losing as expected). If worse comes to worst, doing something YouTube related is my back up plan.

Course Expectations
I’m beyond exited to take this course due to it being a “once in a lifetime experience”. Not a lot of courses offer “guest speakers” so I’m looking forward to the opportunity to listening and speaking to these amazing speakers. In addition to this, I expect to learn more about AI in business (what makes this more interesting is that AI is one of the most relevant topics discussed in today’s society).
Hey Mirage! It was interesting learning more about your background and where you hope to take your MIS degree. I grew up in Alpharetta and watched Baylen’s videos in high school- that’s so cool you are involved with his channel! I am also looking forward to the guest speakers in this class and think it will be such a unique opportunity to network and learn more about MIS in a real-world application.
