Overall story idea:

I want to get a gist of how lacrosse grows past the high school level specifically focusing on students at UGA. I think getting the perspective of those on the club team would add an interesting insight.

So don’t focus on UGA…instead, look at lax growth overall in the NCAA, find recent programs that have started in-state and in the region (Berry and Rhodes come to mind) and find out where Georgia athletes have gone on to school. The differing paths of male and female athletes may be a particular issue to get into–we can talk about how Title IX works in this situation.
