  1. An argument in favor of the open records law is that this allows athletic department staff members who are responsible for researching the requested information to have a lighter workload. The increase in days by 2900 percent provides these particular people with much more time to even respond to a particular request, much less find the information. In theory, this means these people can concentrate much more on their other day-to-day functions and do them at a more efficient level rather than commit a lot of time all at once when requests come their way.
