Kelcey’s Portfolio

This portfolio was originally created to showcase my work about a year ago, but I found that WordPress was more difficult to use and didn’t showcase my work as well as Squarespace. That said, I am excited to try again with WordPress now that I have more knowledge about HTML/CSS, a classroom full of peers and an instructor to give me feedback and advice on how to make it work for me.

What’s your story?

  1. Hey Kelcey! Wow, you have a really gorgeous site. I love your use of photos and graphics–it really draws me in as a reader. If I had a single critique, it might be to consider including a headshot? Perhaps this is a privacy concern for you, and if so I totally respect that, but I wonder if I were in a hiring position if I would want to have a face to attach to your name and work. Beautiful site, though!

  2. Hey Kelcey. I really love your site. The layout is clean and clear. The colour makes me feel comfortable. You post a lot of work which I really admire.

  3. Hi Kelcy, I have to echo what others have said – your site looks great! The layout is appealing and well organized. I also enjoyed reading your content. Not only does it reflect your writing skills; it also reveals a bit about your vision as a journalist, which is nice to see. The only suggestion I can make is to add a date of publication to each of the articles. I didn’t see any (but maybe I missed them?). Anyway, well done! Maryann

  4. Hi Kelcey, I really love the layout of your portfolio. The organization of your work is laid out clearly, and I enjoyed your writing samples that you have. I also think it was a great idea to have an advocacy section of your site. Your bio on the homepage was a great introduction into who you are and what you’re passionate about. I would maybe add a photo of yourself to the about page to make it feel a little bit more personal. Other then that, I think this site is great!
