  1. Hi Sandra, I enjoyed poking around on your portfolio site! I know you’ll be adding and refining, but even at this early stage following the links reveals a well-rounded picture of who you are. It showcases your multiple skills and talents in an easily readable way (on the resume and CV) and with enjoyable content on YouTube, Twitter, etc. It made me think I could spend more time browsing your sites!

Since you’re still working on design, and I imagine you’ll remove template descriptions of widgets and such, I won’t focus on those features. What I will offer are suggestions for the top menu. Perhaps you could add links to your resume and CV on the About Me page instead of having them as two separate items. And perhaps you could use an email icon on the social media menu instead of having a separate Contact item (but if you do decide to keep Contact on the primary menu, I would suggest having it appear last in the order). Hope you have fun over the weekend playing around with the website!

Looking forward to seeing your updates and additions over time … Maryann

    1. Hi Maryann,

Thank you for your comments! I like your ideas.

My resume and CV are on a separate page named “Experience” because I eventually plan to put a timeline of my work experience on there as well (I’ve come across tutorial websites but have not yet had the chance to do it), but if I am not able to put that together, I think putting my resume and CV on my “About Me” page is a TERRIFIC idea. I hadn’t thought of it, so thanks!

In terms of an email icon, I agree: I’d rather have it there with the social media icons. Unfortunately, this WordPress template doesn’t allow me to do that — that I’ve seen so far, at least. I’m going to do more research and see if I can find a way to make it work.

All in all, great comments. Thank you!

  2. Hi Sandra,

I think your portfolio looks really great! I like the unique layout, design, and color scheme you’ve chosen. It’s aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate. I also like the scrolling picture feature on your home page! There are some things that you need to input, but you’ve noted it on the site so I’m sure once you do it will just continue to look great. Great start!

    Best,
    Sarah
