This section of my portfolio is reserved for that time I went to the Cannes Film Festival in 2019, saw lots of great movies, made good friends, and wrote many things. These pieces of writing are unlike anything else I have in my portfolio, not just because of where they come from, but because I wrote all of these on tight deadlines while essentially being at the festival for more than 9 hours every day. This forced me to write economically and diligently, and I think this helped me in the long run when I started regular coursework later that fall. Like my media analysis papers, these pieces required me to think about my own likes and dislikes in film and how I interpreted events in my own life.
